Nars - Night Porter

Hello! Hello!

The Night Porter joins the blog today! (sorry that was uncalled for lol) This is the third in the Night Series from Nars so only one more to go! This is probably my favorite from the collection because I just LOVE green polish and am always on the lookout for new and different green shades. It looks almost borderline matte but the formula is certainly NOT a matte although you could probably use a matte top coat instead of a shine one. I love this, don't really have anything else to say, so ENJOY!

Nars - Night Rider

Hello! Hello!

Here is number two from the Nars Night Series Collection! This is Night Rider and unfortunately is the only one in the collection that is a little disappointing. I lost track of the amount of coats it took to get to this color, it was somewhere between 4-6. The formula although sheer and therefore very thin is also very easy to worth with and not a a problem having to do 4 or 5 coats, also it doesn't looks like gunk on your nails at all. Seche vite did a wonderful job as a top coat but even a regular top coat would work because the polish itself dries very fast on its own. Overall would I repurchase this? Most likely not but I will enjoy it while I have it.

On a totally unrelated note I feel like this color should have been named Diamond Life and the Night Breed should have been called Night Rider. Why you might be asking yourself? I have no clue, but to me it just seems like those names would suit the particular colors a lot better.

Nars - Night Breed

Hello! Hello!

This post will be the beginning of a series of posts of the Nars Night Series Limited Edition. This is one of the most exciting collection for me in a while. This collection came out a little while ago but it's a new love for me. I have purchased every color of this small collection and will be swatching them for you guys!

Today I have Night Breed which is a black base with a finely milled silver glitter. The base polish isn't very opaque because the glitter is so fine that if the black was a solid opaque black it would get lost in translation, another benefit of the fine milled glitter is that it's not a problem with removal. I just love this color! It's such a different and unique color. Yes there are lots of similar 'dupes' out there I even have a few similar ones but nothing this refined and beautiful.

Anyhoo! Enough giber gaber time for the pictures! Enjoy!

Nars - Diamond Life

Hello! Hello!

I have something different today for you guys! I am taking a bit of a break from Barielle, even though I do still love them, but having visited a Nars counter several times in the last few months I've picked up 3 polishes from them. I've eyed Nars polishes for quite a while but held off on them due to the price tag but once I fell in love with the colors I grabbed I got over the sticker shock very quickly. In related news I also have one more 'unexpected' brand coming soon to the blog. I really like the color it's beautiful and it's like nothing I have or have seen before so that's when I knew I had to have it. I have nothing bad to say about the formula I really enjoyed it and if you're in a big enough hurry you could do one coat of this and you're out the door because it's opaque enough that one coat could suffice. Drying time on it's own is quite good also (better than OPI) and the brush is also fabulous. Hope you enjoy!

P.S. Because it's such a cool color and it looks slightly different depending on how the light hits it hence the TONS of pics!

Barielle - Brown Sparkles

Hello! Hello!

Here is another fascinating Barielle shade in Brown Sparkles, Collection unknown (lol). I think the name is deceiving in so far as it's not a creative name but a descriptive one, but either way it's a beautiful shade in it's own right. I was worried that it was going to be very streaky but it was not too bad so I was very pleased with that. There is lots of sparkle in the polish as you can see in the picture with flash but without flash or sunshine it just looks like a cool slick metallic but under tungsten light it looks like the most beautiful rose champagne color. The formula is a little on the thin side for me (but for some reason I find this consistent with metallic shades in general. Not too many complaints, it's just a beautiful polish! Enjoy!

Barielle - Gotta Have Fate

Hello! Hello!

This is a nice Barielle shade, very creamy and quite opaque. This was only two coats and I could still see through the polish. It's described on the Barielle site as a creamy coral however I just don't see it. To me it look a lot more like red based orange (if such a color is possible). It looks more orange than red to me so I just don't see the coral at all. Hope you like!

P.S. I don't know what happening with either my browser or blogger because all my pictures are originally facing one way and once I upload them they turn 'magically' cause I want them all to face in one direction but it just ain't happening. If anyone know how to fix that please let me know in the commets, I'd really apreaciate it!

Barielle - Blossom

Hello! Hello!

I've got a BEAUTIFUL color today. It's a very hard color to describe as it is to photograph but I did my best. The Barielle website describes it as a Peach color, whereas I feel that it's an almost neon peachy pink and if you're lucky in the right light it will look orange. The Barielle site claims that this is an opaque color but I got to disagree. It was a little streaky going on and I can see through the polish on to my finger on the same spot in [almost] every finger [about a millimeter and a half between the white and middle of the nail]. Knowing that I have 2 fairly thick coats of polish on and still being able to see through is one of my biggest pet peeves when it comes to polish but I still love Blossom because it's such a unique color and it's so beautiful that I can't hold a little sheerness against it.

P.S. Forgive the unevenness of my nails, they have been peeling and breaking on me a lot lately and I think it's because of the filing so I am trying an experiment and not filing my nails for a month to see if there's any improvement.
